A new beginning for The Bodhi Tree

We are happy to share with you some exciting changes at the Bodhi Tree, including new practitioners, offerings, and online scheduling.

As some of you know, Athena and her partner Emily recently relocated to Montana after Emily was offered a career move of a lifetime working as an engineer for a dam in Northern Montana. The decision was swift and in a matter of weeks they sold their house in Portland and relocated the family to a new home on 20 acres in rural Montana.

Athena has been lead D.C. at the Bodhi Tree since 2006, offering a full range of chiropractic care. For many of you, she has played an important role as healthcare provider, friend, and confidante. In this transition, she has entrusted the legacy of her work at Bodhi Tree to Dr. Sage Dillon who has an established history with the space as a patient, massage therapist, and chiropractic intern.

Dr. Sage received her Doctor of Chiropractic from University of Western States, where she continues to teach adjusting techniques to new students. Her approach is based on the belief that chiropractic care provides a wide range of tools and modalities to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself. She focuses on active care with gentle manipulation while providing patients with the education and tools necessary to decrease risk of future injury. Along with manual adjusting, Dr. Sage also draws on her background as a massage therapist to offer muscle work, as well as, hot and cold therapy, kinesiotaping, exercise therapy, physiotherapy, nutritional counseling and whole food based supplements.

Joining Dr. Sage at the Bodhi Tree is Lisa Ellis firehorse_acupuncture.com, who has been practicing acupuncture for more than ten years and is well-versed in Chinese medicine, herbal treatment, and Tui Na. Also joining the team, will be Heather Friedman and Wahji Kasten, both licensed acupuncturists and naturopaths.

Chad Lambert D.C. will continue seeing patients on occasional Monday afternoons and can be found teaching at the University of Western Sates chiropracitc college the rest of the week. Heather continues to work her magic at the front desk and behind the scenes doing billing and working with insurance companies. With this new transition we are also saying goodbye to some valued longtime Bodhi Tree providers. Ani has decided to retire from acupuncture after 20 years of practice. She now has time to work in her garden and spend time with her husband and cats. Both Colleen and Shanta have decided to start their own massage therapy practices in locations closer to each of their respective homes. We wish them all luck and health on their new journeys and thank them for their work in establishing the Bodhi Tree as a respected space of healing.

We look forward to sharing a bright and secure future with each of you, while continuing the legacy of professional care and healing. Many thanks to both our established and new patients, we couldn't do it without your support and understanding!

In health and happiness,

The Bodhi Tree Team
